| The City of Jefferson had a 20-year municipal life. Incorporated in 1850, it was absorbed by New Orleans in 1870. Boundaries of Jefferson were Toledano to Joseph, from the Mississippi River. The radiating pink, green, yellow, and blue lines designated riverfront plantations from which this Uptown area’s urban grid developed. | ||
